Colorful Sanxingdui|Sanxingdui cultural relics are like 'very artistic'

"Even in the eyes of artists, Sanxingdui cultural relics arevery artistic." At the creation space, Chen Qiang took out a specially made musical instrument, and a string of wonderfulnotes flowed through his fingersas he played.

As an experimental artist, experimental film director,and curator from Chengdu, Chen Qiang's works mainly focus on mixed media such as videos, performance art, and sound art. He had held personal exhibitions in Macao, Yunnan, New Zealand, Shenzhen, and Beijing.

According to Chen Qiang, Sanxingdui was distinctive. Among the artists invited to take part in the re-creation project, Chen Qiang's creative method is also unique. "When I first came into contact with Sanxingdui culture, I could feel how vivid it was." Chen Qiangsaid.The reason why he chose to use experimental art for his Sanxingdui-inspired re-creation project was because he hoped to travel through time and use his instrument, music, and sound work to hold a dialogue with Sanxingdui civilization.

Chen Qiangalso told us that he believed that the original color of Sanxingdui's cultural relics was light blue: "The ancients liked looking up at the sky, and maybe when they did, they were full of yearning and curiosity."
