"Let's Pixelate it! Sanxingdui Player" is Coming!

"Let's Pixelate it! Sanxingdui Player" is coming! You are welcome to participate in this cultural promotion event. Participants will have the chance to win the awards and get works exhibited in Sanxingdui Museum.

Sichuan International Communication Center (SICC for short) will coordinate with Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics and Archeology Research Institute, Sanxingdui Scenic Area Management Committee, and Sanxingdui Museum to launch "Let's Pixelate it! Sanxingdui Player", collecting Sanxingdui-themed pixelate works from the world. We have already invited students from 11 colleges including Tongji University and Southeast University, and designers including Cthuwork and Rivermen to participate.

Famous artists, archaeological experts in Sanxingdui, and professional designers will be invited as judges, based on the online voting, to select the excellent works to be exhibited in SICC and Sanxingdui Museum, as well as SICC's international social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, WeChat account and website), sanxingduiarchy.com, and bilibili.com. The winners will be awarded.

Its opening ceremony was held at 15:00 on Feb. 17th in Sanxingdui Museum at Guanghan, Sichuan Province. SICC’s anchor Lin Jiawei, Prof. Liu Tong at Chengdu University, Sanxingdui archaeological expert Xu Danyang, designer Chen Zhiyi, Sanxingdui Museum’s docent He Junmin, and the representatives of the student players shared their ideas in the salon.

"Was there written language in Sanxingdui?" "How long does it take to excavate?" The student representatives including oversea students from Thailand, Nepal, and other countries put forward their questions about Sanxingdui culture, archaeological work, as well as the competition tips. The experts answered their question and provided suggestions.

Later, the docent guide the guests to visit Sanxingdui Museum, and introduced the precious cultural relics including the Bronze Sacred Tree, Bronze Standing Figure, Ceramic Utensil with Three Legs, etc. What’s more, Cai Qiutong, the cultural relic restorer introduced the high-tech archaeological and restoring technologies as well as the newly-unearthed cultural relics.

In May, 2022, SICC coordinated with Chuanguan News, Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics and Archeology Research Institute, and Sanxingdui Museum to launch "Coloured Sanxingdui", a Chinese cultural global promotion event.By inviting people around the world to  "colour" the line drawings of unearthed Sanxingdui cultural relics, it aimed at promoting Chinese culture to the world in a creative way. This event has been transmitted for over 50 million times across the internet, and has attracted people from 56 countries to participated.

As another creative cultural promotion event, "Let's Pixelate it! Sanxingdui Player" attempts to introduce  Sanxingdui culture to the world through the combination of Sanxingdui culture and pixelate game.
